Trapped in Nazareth

Mark 6:1-6

amazement in v2, annoyance in v3.

v5. There was one thing that even Jesus was unable to do - overwrite the unbelief of the ppl. Jesus couldn't do many miracles but he did what he could.

BG:

Nazareth was Jesus' base. Jesus took His disciples back with Him, for a purpose.

Jesus grew up there, and it was difficult for them to see the miracle in something they were familiar with. Jesus was sentenced to be common when they recognized Him.

(Familiarity breeds contempt and complacency - sometimes God puts something amazing in us but we're in it for so long, we become complacent. Don't let your miracle be trapped over my familiarity)

1) Have I stopped being amazed by my salvation?

- we don't do animal sacrifices anymore, we don't have to smell the blood of dead animals. do we then take for granted the blood that jesus spilled?

- don't get jaded by, we know we still need that same grace.
