Mark 1
John came, one will come, Jesus came, a voice came, angels came.
Preparation
Nazareth was a no name place for no name people. Jesus came from an unexpected place. People asked “can anything good come from Nazareth” because the authority HE spoke with did not match the background He came from.
Jesus went through a season of obscurity before starting ministry. “Can anything good come out of where I am now?”
Dont make principles more impt than people.
The Dove descended on Jesus after He obeyed. Personal validation from God after His obedience. Do we want validation before we obey? Jesus hasn't done any miracles at this point. God's love for u is never based on ur performance. He validates not what u do, but who you are. Jesus didn’t perform His ministry for acceptance, that’s why He didn’t care what anybody thought about Him.
When you know that somebody important approves of you, it makes the opinion of others a whole lot less significant.
We want peace before making a decision that we know we have to make. But peace comes after obedience. I don’t have peace, I want peace, that’s why I’m doing it. The peace came as He obeyed. Peace comes after obedience.
We need to receive the validation from God each day. Or we will receive from people what they are not capable of giving us. How are they going to give you unconditionally they don’t even like themselves sometimes.
--------------------------------------
At once after the Dove came, the peace came, the HS led Him to where the devil is in the desert.
RIght after the validation came the temptation. Once God gave the promise, you’ll immediately get a chance to prove the promise in the dessert.
Mark didnt describe what Jesus went through, it was fast paced to lead us to the conflict on the cross.
You don’t have to describe every nuance of conflict that you go through until you got no time to to give praise to the one who brought you through it.
Even in a lonely place, you’re under open heaven.
The greatest temptation of life is to find your validation in a source other than Christ.
It is life’s greatest temptation, where will you find your validation?
Every wilderness looks different but the purpose for your wilderness is that you demonstrate the power of God in your life. Believing before but you will only understand after.
Don’t doubt in the wilderness what God showed you in the water. Your angel is on the way.
